E-BCM credit agency says registrations soaring
It's interesting to note that the E-BCM small business credit reference company, which offers a variety of credit-related services is reporting a surge in registrations.
The 18-month-old firm, which offers a raft of free information on its web portal, says that the surge is due to the number of companies "raising their game" to counter the increasing risk of bad debt.
Dennis Scott, the firm's commercial director, says that sign-ups have hit 3,000 as a result of the credit crunch, which he notes can clearly be seen from credit agency Equifax's statistics for July.
The Equifax figures show that total number of business failures in July 2008 rose by 29 percent compared to the same month last year.
Checking credit on the E_BCM portal is quick, simple and inexpensive, with subscriptions starting at £2.49 per month.
As well as running credit checks and obtaining company reports, subscribers can use the service to issue Final Demand Letters to chase up payment and if necessary, call in the services of a professional debt collection agency on a no-win, no-fee basis.
