Email archiving explained
With the provisions of the Companies Act 2006 coming into force in October, corporate governance issues are bound to be a hot topic.Against this backdrop, Waterford Technologies, has just published two white papers on the increasingly important topic of online and email archiving.
The first paper, A Guide to Managing the Growth of Unstructured Data, explains how a good file archive product will remove, delete or migrate up to 80% of the under-accessed files on a firm's IT systems to a more cost-effective secondary system.
The second paper, the 2008 Email Archiving Best Practices Guide, outlines 12 ways that organisations can improve email archiving, covering issues such as:
- Email storage
- Legal discovery, research and investigations
- Email security and policies
- Productivity, monitoring and policy enforcement
It's worth noting there are other email archiving vendors out there, including Messagelabs, Mesagestream, Nexstor and others, but the white papers are free, and worth checking out...
